Introductory
“Mayrit. Water, Stone, Fire, and Flesh.” It’s an ephemeral site-specific work from the LuzMadrid 2023 Festival, that revalues the Arab wall of Madrid. Using olfactory, tactile, visual, and auditory devices, it offers an accessible multisensory experience that dissolves boundaries, leaving a lasting mark in the memory of participants.
No specific prerequisite knowledge is required. The session is designed to be accessible to professionals across disciplines, including those new to lighting design.
Learning Objectives
- Identify strategies for creating multisensory live shows experiences that are inclusive and accessible to diverse audiences
- Describe how light, vibration, and sound can be integrated to communicate beyond the visual channel
- Explain the role of tactile, olfactory, and auditory cues in enhancing spatial and emotional engagement

Speaker

Ezequiel Nobili is an Italian-Argentine lighting designer and multidisciplinary artist with a degree in Image and Sound Design from the Panamerican School of Art in Buenos Aires. He is a member of Spain’s Association of Lighting and Video Authors (AAI) and has extensive experience in the performing and audiovisual arts. His work spans lighting, video, and scenic design across Europe and Latin America. He teaches in various institutions, exploring light as a storytelling tool and examining the emotional and sensory impact of color in space, performance, and interactive environments. His artistic practice bridges technology, perception, and inclusive spatial experiences.
