This expert panel discussion will enlighten architects, consultants, contractors, and integrators about the multi-faceted potential of Power Over Ethernet [PoE] to universally deliver Operational Grade DC-power and data- communications through essential building systems on a unified network. Listen and learn from the perspectives of PoE-lighting, automated shading/daylight management and intelligent network-switching experts about the benefits PoE — as a single platform for Power + Data — brings to building developers, business owners facility managers and occupants as a future-proof, holistic and sustainable Operational Technology [OT] platform for the 21st century and beyond.
Attendees should have interest, experience and passion for design-efficiencies, intelligent building practices, and sustainability, as core essentials to their role in the building industry.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Understand and appreciation for how POE optimizes automated shading, lighting, and other Operational Technologies [OT], as a unified network to enhance building efficiencies, occupant experiences.
- Meet sustainable objectives through PoE enabled lighting, shading, and other environmental operational systems to contribute towards prerequisites and credits of both LEED and WELL Standards
- Learn about how common components of PoE-based OT simplify infrastructure, and offer an alternate BMS, supporting client expectations as a reliable, adaptable, and future-resilient standard.
- Recognize the features and benefits of PoE as a ubiquitous OT standard to enhance designs, reduce waste, and improve performance of businesses, people, and places.
This Panel discussion combines the expertise of four founding member representatives of the PoE Consortium — a non-profit [501C3] organization dedicated to bringing awareness, interest, education and mutual understanding about the energy-efficient, sustainable and holistic benefits of PoE as a safe, reliable and future-proof alternative to traditional AC power sources to enable Operational- Technologies in all types of built-environments.
