Introductory
Through thoughtful design, precise light control, and responsible product selection, lighting can enhance safety, comfort, and beauty while minimizing its impact on the night environment. However, getting clients excited about a dark-sky-friendly design concept is another story. In this panel discussion, we’ll share strategies for communicating the value of dark-sky-friendly lighting. From effective storytelling that harnesses our nostalgia for brilliant starry nights, to energy savings, visual comfort, and the impact of light pollution on human and ecological well-being, we’ll explore ways lighting professionals can advocate for dark-sky-friendly lighting in their projects.
