Sima Tawakoli, architect, Application Engineer, designer, and educator, and a former President of the Illuminating Engineering Society San Francisco. Her work focuses on integration of technology and aesthetics, and lighting retrofits for variety of applications. She has taught across multiple design disciplines and has chaired the jury for the SF-LUX Award since 2018. Sima holds master’s degrees in Architecture and Urbanism and in Design and Industry. A consultant on international architectural and urban projects, her research and designs have been published in IASTE 2024 and 2025, LightFair New York 2023, Lightshow 2018, and LD+A 2017.
