LEDucation is Supported through the Volunteer Efforts of DLFNY Members
The Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY) is dedicated to advancing the understanding and application of lighting in design. Established in 1934, DLFNY is a not-for-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Managers and supported primarily through the proceeds of LEDucation.
DLFNY brings together designers, architects, manufacturers and their representatives, contractors, educators, and students, offering meaningful opportunities to engage with the evolving world of lighting in New York City and beyond. The organization further strengthens the field by supporting formal lighting education through contributions to local universities, design schools, and national educational initiatives.
Its ongoing commitment to professional development includes administering awards, grants, scholarships, and a variety of events that foster learning, collaboration, and innovation within the lighting community.

In Memoriam: Caroline Rinker
We honor the memory of LEDucation Co-Chair Caroline Rinker. A prominent figure in the New York City lighting community, Caroline enjoyed a storied 45+ year career. She was a role model, a mentor, a motivator, and a consummate professional. Her boundless passion, dedication, and contributions to the lighting community were monumental. She was a principal at O’Blaney Rinker Associates, member of Women in Lighting Design (WILD), and a supporter of the Illuminating Engineering Society New York City section (IESNYC). She served as President of the Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY) in 2010-2012 and was an active board member for 20 years. She also volunteered and became co-chair of the LEDucation Trade Show and Conference starting in 2014 – which became a platform that will continue to help further education in the lighting community for years to come. Caroline always had her eye on the future and will remain a brilliant light to warm our hearts.
