Julie’s strategic design approach fuses detailed technical requirements with the artistry of design in her passion for illuminating the built environment. With a background in architecture, Julie’s industry experience includes collaborating from both the architectural and engineering disciplines. Julie relishes in sharing her favorite part of the design process – the moment where the endless possibilities to transform a project through lighting are revealed. With over 30 years of lighting design experience, Julie’s extensive expertise covers a wide variety of project types and scale, including aviation, healthcare, hospitality, corporate, sports and fitness, higher education and justice.
As a part of HLB’s Daylighting and Sustainable Design Studio, Julie is a full committee member for the ASHRAE 90.1 energy standard for buildings as well as being LEED BD+C certified and a registered architect. She also participates in the IALD Energy & Sustainability committee and on the IES RP-29 Healthcare Lighting committee.
