Next Generation Lighting Parsons Tour
Luminaire-Integrated Controls in the Real World
Wednesday, March 14, 2018 | 6:00pm
How will your next simple control system really turn out? How difficult is it for installers to mount a simple control system and get it working? That's the challenge facing today's systems that are claimed to be "easy to configure." Following LEDucation on Wednesday evening, you are invited to see for yourself at a unique installation in Greenwich Village!
Over the last six months, the Next Generation Lighting Systems program has evaluated the installation and configuration of twelve different lighting and control systems at The New School through a collaboration with the School of Constructed Environments, Parsons School of Design.
The systems represent a range of luminaire types, retrofit kits, and controls from eleven different manufacturers, each lighting its own classroom to a common lighting and control specification. During the tour, you will be able to see installed lighting systems and operate the wall controls, as well as ask follow up questions of the NGLS team.
For details on the systems and the evaluation, please join us at our LEDucation workshop on Wednesday, 2-3 PM. The tour itself begins at 6, after the close of LEDucation.
